Sadly, this illustration will never see the light of day.  The more progress I make on it the less I'm in love with it...  I gave it a fair chance...  something needs to change...

Conceptually, I still want to convey a quizzical crowd of family members staring at the strange new baby in their midst.

Here's the evolution from the old illustration to the new idea so far.  The solution had to do with putting the baby on a pink chaise.
